Dr. Rodrigo Goes é médico ortopedista, especializado em cirurgia do joelho e traumatologia e medicina do esporte, atuante em diversas modalidades esportivas.

Fez Residência Médica em Ortopedia no Instituto Nacional de Traumatologia e Ortopedia (INTO), no Rio de Janeiro, local onde também fez sua especialização em Cirurgia do Joelho e é o Chefe substituto do Centro de Trauma do Esporte do INTO.

É Pós-Graduado em Medicina do Esporte e do Exercício pela Universidade Veiga de Almeida, onde foi professor do curso por muitos anos.

É Mestre em Ciências Aplicadas ao Sistema Musculoesquelético pelo INTO, com a pesquisa “Avaliação da previsibilidade da sutura de menisco através da ressonância magnética”.

Foi o médico responsável pela Seleção Brasileira Feminina Adulta de Basquete (2013 a 2015), além de consultor para os atletas de alta-performance do Instituto Reação de Judô, ONG liderada pelo medalista olímpico Flávio Canto.

Esteve presente em diversar Missões integrando a equipe médica do Comitê Olímpico Brasileiro (C.O.B) incluindo os XXX Jogos Olímpicos de Londres -2012, XXXI Jogos Olímpicos do Rio -2016 e os XVII Jogos Pan-Americanos de Toronto -2015.

Integrou a Comissão Nacional de Controle de Doping no Futebol e Voleibol (Rio de Janeiro), incluindo a participação na Copa das Confederações FIFA 2013.

Titulado da Sociedade Brasileira de Ortopedia e Traumatologia (SBOT), da Sociedade Brasileira de Cirurgia do Joelho(SBCJ), da Sociedade Brasileira de Artroscopia e Trauma Esportivo (SBRATE), da International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports os Medicine (ISAKOS), da Sociedad Latinoamericana de Artroscopia Rodilla Y Traumatologia Deportiva (SLARD), da American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons(AAS) e e integrante da campanha Stop Sports Injuries, da American Orthopaedics in Sports Medicine (AOSM).

Com experiência internacional, o Dr. Rodrigo Goes frequentou Serviços especializados em Lesões multiligamentares, complexas do joelho e transplantes de menisco e cartilagem, como a University of British Columbia, em Vancouver – Canadá ( DR. Robert G. McCormack); no Steadman – Philippon Research Institute (SPRI) em Vail, Colorado – EUA ( Dr. Robert LaPrade); na Rush University em Chicago – EUA ( Dr. Brian Cole); e na Universite de Geneve -Suiça ( Dr. Jacques Menetree) e Serviços especializados em Pubalgia, como Muschaweck Hernia Center, Munique – Alemanha (Dr. Ulrike Muschaweck) e a Washigton University School of Medicine in Saint Louis/ Barnes-Jewish Hspital, Saint Louis – Missouri – EUA ( DR. L. Michael Brunt).

Além disso, está em constante atualização participando de cursos e congressos no Brasil e no exterior para trazer aos pacientes o que há de mais moderno em técnicas cirurgicas e tratamentos.

Dr. Rodrigo Goes is an orthopedic doctor, specialized in Knee surgery and Traumatology
and Sports Medicine, active in many sports.

He has a Medical Residency in Orthopedics at the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics (INTO), in Rio de Janeiro, where he also specialized in Knee Surgery and is the substitute Head of the INTO Sport’s
Trauma Center.

He has a post-graduate degree in Sports Medicine and Exercise from Veiga de Almeida University, where he was professor of the course for many years.

He holds a Masters in Applied Sciences to the Musculoskeletal System from INTO, with the
research “Evaluation of predictability of meniscus repair through magnetic resonance
imaging (MRI)”.

He was the head doctor for the Brazilian Professional Women’s Basketball Team (2013 to
2015), as well as a consultant for the high-performance athletes of the Judo Reação
Institute, an NGO Idealized and Commander by Olympic medalist Flávio Canto.

He was present in many Missions, integrating the Medical Team of the Brazilian Olympic Committee (C.O.B) including the XXX Olympic Games of London-2012, XXXI Olympic Games of Rio-2016 and the XVII Pan-American Games of Toronto-2015.

He was a member of the National Commission for Doping Control in Football and Volleyball (Rio de Janeiro), including participation at the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup.

Holder Member of the Brazilian Society of Orthopedics and Traumatology (SBOT), the Brazilian Society of Knee Surgery (SBCJ), the Brazilian Society of Arthroscopy and Sports

Involved in many kind research projects in Knee Surgery and Sports Injuries, he is the Editor and Author of the book “The Meniscus – Evaluation and Injury to Transplantation”,  which aims to understand even more about the most important structure of our knees, the menisci.

In addition, he is constantly updated by participating in courses and congresses in Brazil and abroad to bring patients the latest in surgical techniques and treatments.
